Mrs. Katie Parker

I am so excited to be teaching 1st grade at St. Joseph School! I love being a part of this parish and community. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Lewis University and a masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Saint Francis. I started my teaching career working for District 118 in Palos Heights, IL. I was a special education teacher for 8 years before I decided to stay home and raise my two sons. Now that they are a little older (and also attend St. Joes), I decided it was the perfect time to go back into teaching. I love reading and enjoy teaching all subjects, but being able to incorporate faith into my daily lessons makes it so much more special!

In my spare time, I’m usually driving my boys to their sports commitments and spending time with my husband. I also love to do woodworking, listen to music, and travel with my family.

One thing I want my students to know is how deeply committed I am to their learning: socially, emotionally, academically, and spiritually. I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity!
