SJS Reopening Information

Bishop Pates has issued a notice for all schools in the Diocese of Joliet to prepare for returning to school for face to face lessons. Our Reopening Committee is working to make our school safe for the return of in-school learning in August. The Illinois School Board of Education released specific guidelines for Illinois schools regarding reopening. You should have received a copy of the guidelines. We will take their guidelines as well as guidance from the Catholic Schools Office.

The Reopening committee:

• Dr. Deborah Boyle – Pediatrician
• Dr. Paul Hutchinson – Pulmonologist at Loyola Hospital
• Dr. Brian Medernach – Infectious Disease
• Katie Toben – Nurse (who has cared for Covid-19 patients)
• Lori Ritzert – Procurement of Supplies
• Catherine Ho – School Advisory Board
• Jane Krueger – Extended Care Coordinator
• Kathleen Kuper – Preschool Teacher
• Beth Harbauer – Parish Business Manager

Tech Committee:

Our Tech Committee is working on cataloguing programs and procuring more devices. The Tech Committee is working on staff development and outlining curriculum for more direct instruction of standards through units. This will be beneficial, if in the event, we need to move to remote learning during the school year.
