I am a 5th grade homeroom teacher and also teach science to 4th and 5th grades. I have taught at St. Joseph School for 21 years. Through those years I’ve met so many wonderful families and taught with amazing teachers. Each year is a new adventure. Previously, I taught for 10 years in the Chicago Public School system. In addition to having a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, I am certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, K-9.
I enjoy teaching and spend a good deal of time making sure my students understand the material. I pride myself on providing a variety of hands-on science experiences, and helping students mature and advance at all levels. A number of different reptiles and small animals have frequented my classroom, a favorite is a box turtle, Shelly.
My husband and I spent the summer traveling to Grand Rapids, Michigan to visit our granddaughter and her soon-to-be younger sibling, due January 2018! My two daughters are both getting married in 2018 – one in Ireland and one here in Chicago. Needless to say it is going to be a crazy and wonderful 2018!
